The Financial Reports team safeguards the financial integrity of The University of Texas at Austin by ensuring that funds are managed in accordance with sound accounting principles, University policies, and applicable laws and regulations. We deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and ensure that costs are appropriately allocated across the University’s diverse activities and missions.

We achieve this by:

• Maintaining a deep understanding of reporting requirements and compliance standards
• Providing technical support and guidance to department
• Preparing and submitting the Annual Financial Report (AFR)
• Developing and maintaining rate proposals for sponsored activity, including Service Centers and other special categories

We provide financial reporting and support services to departments across campus and to external stakeholders—including local, state, and federal agencies. Because all financial activity at the University impacts major institutional reports, Financial Reports plays a vital role in seeing and shaping the broader financial picture.
