Credit Bureaus
The University of Texas at Austin will report certain debts owed to the three national credit bureaus, listed below.
- Federal Perkins loans, Nurse Faculty Loan Program loans, tuition loans, and long-term institutional loans will be reported monthly from the date the loans are made. Tuition loans that are not paid in full will be reported as past due on the borrower's credit report 30 days after the loan due date.
- Cash loans will be reported as past due if they are more than three months past due and do not have an established repayment agreement with our office with regular payments being made or are sent to a collection agency.
- Financial aid adjustment debts may be reported as past due if not resolved.
If you feel your credit report is incorrect, please file a dispute with the credit bureau(s) for which you are disputing the data reported. The credit bureau will notify the University of this dispute and corrections to the reporting will be made if needed.
