IG 101: Records and Information Management for Department Record Managers

About the Class

  • This two-hour course provides an overview of records and information management at the university for department records managers
  • Attendees will be introduced to university records management requirements, practices, and procedures, including identifying, managing, digitizing, retaining, and disposing of university records
  • The class includes a hands-on introduction to the tools and resources used in managing university records, including the: University of Texas at Austin Records Retention Schedule (UTRRS) Records Inventory, Records Management Plan, and Request to DIspose of Records

Who Should Take the Class

  • This course is required for Department Records Managers and Department Records Manager Contacts (DRMCs)
    • Units are required to designate at least one records management contact in the Organizational Hierarchy System (OHS)
    • Each contact is required to take IG101 at least once upon being designated a departmental records contact

IG 103: Records and Information Management: What Everyone Needs to Know about University Records

  • This one-hour course provides an overview of records and information management at UT Austin and is intended to help all university community members understand their responsibilities for managing state records
  • Attendees will be introduced to university records management requirements, practices, and procedures

Who Should Take the Class

  • Anyone interested in records management policies or procedures may take the IG103 class
  • Staff who play a significant role in managing or creating records, such as HR or financial services
  • Managers who supervisor staff assigned records management duties
  • Department or unit heads responsible for their unit’s business processes
  • IT data managers or stewards and IT system or service owners
  • Records Managers who have taken IG101, or the previously offered RIMS101 and RIMS102 courses, may take this class to revisit records management concepts and procedures.

CW 505: Cashier Training

Enroll in Cashier Training Class

This class provides online training to university employees who deal with cash and/or checks and provides important information about university policies and procedures.

Taking the Training:

  • This is a Web-based training that can be taken at your convenience.
  • You must have an active UT EID and e-mail address before enrolling.
