14.1. INTRODUCTION AND RESOURCES
A. Introduction
The Scholarship and Fellowship Services section of Accounting and Financial Management oversees award processing to individuals for all departmental scholarships and fellowships, as well as for nonemployee cash awards at The University of Texas at Austin. Scholarship and Fellowship Services assists departments with the following:
- Ensuring federal, state, and institutional guidelines are upheld in scholarship/fellowship disbursement
- Researching and resolving issues related to scholarship/fellowship processing
- Providing FRMS support to departments awarding scholarships/fellowships
Scholarship and Fellowship Services does not assist with the following (these services are provided by the deans and departments or the entity awarding the external scholarship):
- Accepting or processing scholarship/fellowship applications
- Selecting scholarship/fellowship recipients
- Determining award amounts for any scholarships/fellowships
- Accepting or distributing external scholarships/fellowships provided by third-party sources
Inquiries about nondepartmental scholarships or fellowships, including university-wide, and external scholarships or fellowships, should be directed to the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid.
