14.1. INTRODUCTION AND RESOURCES

A. Introduction

The University of Texas at Austin’s Office of Accounting Scholarship and Fellowship Services oversees scholarship and fellowship processing for all departmental scholarships and fellowships, as well as for nonemployee cash awards.  Scholarship and Fellowship Services performs the following tasks:

  • Ensures that federal, state, and institutional guidelines are upheld in all scholarship awarding
  • Researches and resolves issues related to scholarship processing
  • Provides support to departments awarding scholarships

Scholarship and Fellowship Services does not provide the following services, as these services are provided by the deans and departments or the external entity awarding the nonuniversity scholarship:

  • Accept or process scholarship applications
  • Select scholarship recipients
  • Determine award amounts for any institutional or external scholarship programs
  • Accept or distribute scholarships provided by nonuniversity sources

Inquiries about nondepartmental scholarships or fellowships, including outside-source, university-wide, and National Merit scholarships or fellowships, should be directed to the Office of Student Financial Services.
