Dear Colleagues,

As of March 1, Payroll Services will be restructured to report to Accounting and Financial Management (AFM).

This move was originally announced in August 2018 as part of a larger portfolio reorganization designed to allow us to better manage our internal and external functions as one consolidated portfolio dedicated to the support of the university’s educational and research mission.

This move will better position Payroll Services to be integrated into strategic planning for the future of financial services in the FAS portfolio. Additionally, Payroll Services has traditionally performed a large amount of accounting and reconciliation as part of their core duties. By having this team report to AFM, we will be effectively consolidating this type of work under a single organization.

Beginning March 1, organizational charts and websites will reflect these organizational changes. No major changes to processes or procedures are expected to take place at the time of the move. However, as we continue to examine our business processes for efficiencies, Payroll Services will benefit from any business process improvements or re-engineering along with other financial business areas.
